Commercial / Contracts Consultant

We are looking for a diligent and motivated Commercial Contracts Consultant to join our growing team.

You will have 3 years post graduate experience with either a Contracting or Consulting organisation and be proactive in your career progression. You will be keen to challenge yourself to increase your knowledge of the construction industry and all commercial and contracts matters.

You will be working towards or achieved Technical Member of the CICES or Associate member of RICS.

We are seeking evidence of involvement in and basic understanding of construction law, contractual relationships and key contractual requirements associated with a particular project.

We have a dedicated Training Programme and support will be provided to the successful candidate towards achieving MRICS status.

Responsibilities

  • As a Commercial Contracts Consultant , you will be responsible for the following:
  • Supporting a Senior Consultant in managing a Portfolio of Clients and Projects.
  • Maintain effective communication with our Clients, and other stakeholders.
  • Assist in staff matters as requested, provide support and guidance to other team members. Support your team with any assistance following staff performance and development review activities
  • Where applicable, be proactive in the progress of objectives in the Company training programme including regular contact with appointed RICS and Line Manager.
  • Show professionalism at all times.
  • Assist in the commercial management of subcontractors on behalf of Clients.
  • Assist in cost monitoring of site resources.
  • Take part in discussions concerning performance of those elements of a project in which you are involved
  • Understand and follow the Company and Site procedures as set out by Senior Management
  • Assist in dealing with change management
  • Assist in the production of applications for payment in accordance with the conditions of contract.
  • Be conscious of commercial advice being sought by the site team and given by more senior commercial staff, attend and provide input to project commercial meetings
  • Understand the principles of insurance claims arising and assist as directed by senior management
  • Maintain a personal diary, managing your time and workloads in a structured manner
  • Have a basic level of construction procedures and working methods.
  • Supporting Diafora Business Development initiatives and events.
